St. Philip the Apostle Parish

A PARISH OF THE ROMAN CATHOLIC DIOCESE OF GREEN BAY

Safety

Mission:

The Safety Committee is a standing committee of the Finance Council that acts in an advisory capacity to address safety concerns on parish grounds.

Purpose:

  • Monitor building safety, personnel safety policies and volunteer activities
  • Reduce incidents of “slips, trips and falls” by employees, volunteers, parishioners or guests
  • Work with diocese insurance company representatives
  • Work with parish Building & Grounds Committee and potentially other parish committees to bring about safety improvements

Qualifications:

Anyone who is a parish member and actively practicing the Catholic faith is eligible for consideration. An individual with experience in the military, law enforcement, risk management, medicine, insurance, law, security, mechanical trades, teaching, or is familiar with parish volunteering can be an asset to the committee, but this is not a requirement as those without such experience can also be valuable.

Length of Commitment: typically a three-year term

Meeting time: as determined by committee members. Often Wednesday afternoons approximately several times per year.
