St. Philip the Apostle Parish

A PARISH OF THE ROMAN CATHOLIC DIOCESE OF GREEN BAY

Building & Grounds

Mission:

The Building and Grounds Committee is a standing committee of the Finance Council that acts in an advisory capacity to:

  • Assess and determine the physical needs of parish facilities and landscape
  • Consult with the Finance Council, Pastor and Business Manager regarding suggested renovation, maintenance and improvements.

Purpose:

  • Advise regarding preventive maintenance, deferred maintenance, safety, efficiency, and security
  • Annual review of properties and grounds and recommendations regarding capital planning
  • Suggest projects that are in some instances broader in scope than one year
  • Consider handicap accessibility
  • Advise regarding equipment operation, including manuals and binders

Qualifications:

Anyone who is a parish member and actively practicing the Catholic faith is eligible for consideration. An individual with expertise in disciplines such as architecture, contracting, design, project management, HVAC, landscaping, carpentry, finance, or engineering can be an asset to the committee, but this is not a requirement as the contributions of those without such experience can also be valuable. The committee will typically be comprised of four to six members who satisfy the needs of facility and grounds analysis.

Length of Commitment: typically a three-year term

Meeting time: as determined by committee members. Often Monday afternoons approximately once per month.
