Stewardship Committee

2nd Monday of the month; 4:00 - 5:00 pm; Adult Center

Mission Statement:

To continually stress the importance of stewardship in our lives, until we realize that Stewardship - is a way of life! We strive to inform, welcome and encourage our people to want to give back to God a portion of what He gives to us - through involvement here at St. Philip Parish.

                                                                  Responsibilities:

  • Working with the parish staff, committees and organizations to continually emphasize our Stewardship Mission and carry out a Stewardship Program of Prayer, Service & Sharing
  • With the help of the diocese, recruiting individuals and/or couples to share their personal testimonies about stewardship as an effective tool in promoting Stewardship throughout the year
  • Keeping a current pamphlet of parish activities/organizations available throughout the year
  • Conducting an annual Call to Stewardship Campaign throughout your parish
  • Working with the appropriate parish organizations and groups to ensure that those who inquire about a ministry are contacted by the appropriate person(s) and proper follow-up is completed
  • Evaluating the Stewardship Programs on a continual basis. Specifically: to review any comments, criticism and questions received with commitment cards/evaluations and determine appropriate response (mail, phone or personal visit)
  • Working with appropriate people to see that new parishioner folders include principles on stewardship and that proper follow-up is done through a welcome letter and personal contact
  • Working with the staff and appropriate people to promote stewardship all through the year by means of bulletin flyers, Church Chat articles, etc.
  • Working with the Finance Council regarding the stewardship of sharing with input and feedback to help increase the level of monetary giving
  • Making sure that appreciation is an important part of your parish stewardship thrust

 Position Requirements:  Members should be involved in the parish, exemplify stewardship by their own involvement, be spiritually motivated, communicate well, be accountable -- and envision where stewardship can take the parish.

How do you become a committee member:   Sign up during our Annual Call to Stewardship Campaign; contact a committee member with an interest to attend an orientation meeting; or call Ellen Dymond/Coordinator of Volunteer Ministry - in the Parish Office (468-7848).

 Length of Commitment:   3-year term
